Debbie Mucarsel-Powell Responds to Rick Scott’s Senate GOP Leader Campaign Announcement

The Florida Senate Race Could Now Decide Not Only Not Only Who’s In The Majority, But Also Who’s Majority Leader

If Rick Scott Becomes Majority Leader, He Wouldn’t Hesitate To Sunset Social Security And MedicareRaise Taxes On Middle-Class Families, And Push Through A National Abortion Ban

Miami, FL – Tonight, Rick Scott announced that he is running to be the next Senate Republican leader. In response, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell released the following statement:

“Self-serving Rick Scott is a danger to Florida families, and as Senate leader, he would be a disaster for Americans,” said Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. “We all know if Rick Scott gets elected to Senate leadership, he won’t hesitate to push his toxic and out-of-touch agenda to sunset Social Security and Medicare, raise taxes on middle-class families, and force a national abortion ban onto the American people. There’s no line Rick Scott won’t cross to further his own extreme agenda. The stakes of this race just got so much higher, but voters are fired up and ready to retire Rick Scott – for working Floridians and for Americans across the country.”

Rick Scott in Senate leadership would be disastrous for Americans:

Rick Scott will force a national abortion ban, criminalizing health care providers.

Rick Scott will sunset Social Security and Medicare, leaving millions of families uninsured and ripping away seniors’ hard-earned benefits.
