Rick Scott Celebrated Arizona’s Total Ban As A Product Of Overturning Roe v. Wade

Miami, FL –  Two years ago today, a draft majority opinion of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case leaked from the Supreme Court ahead of the Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. In response, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell released the following statement.

“In the two years since the Dobbs decision leak, extremist politicians like Rick Scott have launched an all-out attack on our privacy and the health care decisions that should be made between a woman, her family, and her doctor,” said Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. “And they will not stop there. Just this week, Florida’s dangerous abortion ban went into effect in our state, limiting access to reproductive health care and risking women’s lives. Rick Scott celebrated Arizona’s total abortion ban and said it was ‘what ought to happen’ after the end of Roe v. Wade. It is crucial that we pass Amendment 4 in November and vote out extremist politicians like Scott who want to pass a national abortion ban.”
