Communications Workers of America Endorses Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for U.S. Senate

Miami, FL – Today, Communications Workers of America joined dozens of organizations, leaders, and advocates in supporting Debbie Mucarsel-Powell as Florida’s next senator.

“Communications Workers of America (CWA) are proud to announce our endorsement of Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for US Senate. Congresswoman Mucarsel-Powell has always stood with workers dating back to her time in Congress. Debbie will fight to protect our labor rights, secure Social Security for future generations and work to lower costs for our families here in Florida. We look forward to organizing our 22,000+ members and retirees in Florida to the polls in November to win this race,” said Eric Gosnell, Chair of Florida Board of CWA Presidents.

“I am thrilled to have earned the support of Communications Workers of America,” said Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. “Florida families are struggling – from homeowners insurance to housing to health care – prices are out of control. We have a Senator who is completely out of touch with the problems facing our communities. Self-serving Rick Scott is opposed to creating jobs for hardworking Floridians – but he’s comfortable increasing his own net wealth by nearly $50 million. He will never understand what a Social Security check means to a retiree on a fixed income, or what Medicare means to everyday Floridians like my mom. When I was in Congress, it was my privilege to stand alongside unions, and as Senator, I will fight to expand economic opportunities and protect Florida’s workers.”
