On Medicare & Medicaid Anniversary Debbie Mucarsel-Powell Vows To Hold Rick Scott Accountable

Rick Scott Represents A State With One Of The Largest Populations Of Seniors, Yet He Continues To Double Down On His Plan To Sunset Medicare And Social Security

As Governor, Rick Scott Refused to Expand Medicaid, Leaving 1.4 Million Floridians Uninsured

Miami, FL – Today marks the 59th anniversary of Medicare, a critical health care program relied upon by over five million Floridians – and one that Rick Scott wants to cut. In response, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell released the following statement.

“Rick Scott is a thief who will stop at nothing to steal seniors’ hard-earned benefits,” said Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. “Seniors across the state have worked their entire lives to earn their Social Security and Medicare benefits, and yet Medicare fraudster Rick Scott thinks he has the right to rip them away in an instant. This fight is personal to me – I’ve seen firsthand how important these benefits are to my mother, and I promise that in the Senate I will protect Medicare and Social Security.”

Rick Scott will end Medicare as we know it, leaving millions of families uninsured and ripping away seniors’ hard-earned benefits.
